The 13th Korea - Japan International Symposium on Microbiology (XIII-KJISM) The-K Hotel GYEONG JU, 13th (Fri) May, 2016


Dear Colleagues,
I would like to take the present opportunity to invite you to join us for the 13th Korea-Japan International Symposium on Microbiology (13th KJISM) that will be held in Gyeongju, Korea in May 2016. The KJISM is held biannually. Following the 12th successful previous meetings, the organizing committee is pleased to announce that the 13th JKISM will take place on 13th (Fri) May, 2016 at The-K Hotel Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, Korea. Gyeongju, the capital of the Silla Kingdom for a thousand years. Seokguram Grotto is the representative stone temple of Korea. UNESCO has designated it as World Cultural Heritage Site. Bulguksa is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Seokuram Grotto.
The scientific program of this symposium is focused on four topics: Innate immune sensing of bacterial infection, bacterial effectors and host defense, pathogenesis in intracellular bacterial infection and new approaches and concepts in human pathogenic bacteria. The symposium will provide you with an important opportunity for sharing experience and acquiring new information.
The 127th Summer Symposium of The Korean Society for Microbiology will be held on 12th May, 2016 at the same place. I hope that all participants from both countries will enjoy this symposium. It will allow you to forge new friendships, and hopefully pursue collaborative work together.
I am looking forward to welcoming and hosting you in Gyeongju in May 2016, and sincerely hope that you will join us to make this endeavor a success.
