Prof. Watanabe has worked as an Infection Control SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) Team, WHO China office during an outbreak of SARS, 2003. We have registered with the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) partner by WHO on April, 2007. Prof. Watanabe attended the regional training course for GOARN in Philippine on November, 2007 and Singapore on July, 2008. Also, Prof. Watanabe was invited to GOARN meeting of partners on 16 and 17 April 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland. Watanabe and Kashiwagi presented the title ‘ Infection control for the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 in Kurume university hospital` in the GOARN meeting, Cambodia on March, 2010. In case an outbreak of emerging infectious diseases appear, we will take part to contain that with WHO.
