Established in January 1997, the Kurume University Research Center for Innovative Cancer Therapy is now in its 25th year. During that time, thanks to external support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "High-Tech Research Center Development Project" and "COE Program," as well as from the people within the university, we have continued to disseminate new findings in cancer research both inside and outside the university. In April 2022, I have succeeded Dr. Akira Yamada as Director of the Center. In July, the "Cancer Vaccine Development Division" will be renamed the “Tumor Immunology Division.” We will further develop multifaceted cancer research while building a research system that is more in tune with the times. We look forward to your continued support and encouragement for our center.
